Temporal and compositional relationship among lava flows of the Craters of the Moon National Monument Idaho
The Craters of the Moon National Monument (COM) is located in the Eastern Snake River Plain, Idaho. COM is scattered with cinder cones, eruptive fissures, spatter cones, and shield volcanoes that are associated with the rift and accountable for many of its 45+ flows. The goal of this study is to establish compositional and temporal relationships of the lava flows at COM using hyperspectral imaging and reflectance spectroscopy in order to decipher the geological history of COM.
